Played another round of shows at the Make-Out Room. It was a tribute to the Who. Maybe some of you saw the ad in the paper? Because we actually got in and that was pretty cool.
It was soooo fucking hot out. I had to wear shorts and a tank top the first day, and after the show someone said, 'You're usually so androgynous, but you look so cute and feminine today! The audience responded really well, I think.'
Uh. Thanks. But I'm pretty comfortable in my androgyny, yeah...
But the next day, after the fog rolled in, I was back in my usual form with skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a plaid blazer. Classic.
Saturday was alright. The crowd was big at the beginning, but by the end of the show (meaning, YOUNG MAN'S BLUES, which was amazing - my one vocal of the show) most everyone had left. It was disappointing.
Sunday was better. More people showed up, it was cold out, a bunch of friends showed up. And I brought my camera so we took a bunch of crazy pictures together. We all went out in the Mission District looking for a Who-related gift for Nate - we ended up getting him a toy bus (GET IT? GET IT? MAGIC BUS HAW) and gave it to him onstage. He was so embarassed. xD
Prime moments :
- 'IT'S A BOYYYYY' 'Dude, that's not a boy' 'Yes it is!'
- Little kid jeans, the worst idea ever
- 'Got to go, my mom just hit someone'
- 'This looks English, right? It's a little car'
- 'I guess the whole band just passed out'
- 'It's not a burrito!'
- 'Shut up, you're a scrawny little bitch. You could totally pull off gigantic shoulder pads.'
- 'Stop it, I'm trying to be emo!'
- 'Can I write that into my forty-minute song?'
- Me, Devin and Nick : 'EEEEAAAAYUUUUGHHHAAAYYY'
- 'Duck?' 'Why?' ' Prom dress.' 'Oh, that's kind of cool.'
- Me and Ruby : 'I LOVE ISRAELIS'
- ' PAIGE, WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE BUS?!'
- 'All of you, stay here and fight to the death. I'm getting a cappucino.' <--- I think this was the most epic thing I've ever said, ever.
It was pretty fun.
I'm still thinking about who that girl compared me to could be. I asked Nika and she was like 'OH DUDE. I'VE SO SEEN HIM BEFORE. HIS NAME IS LIKE...K...SOMETHING...DUDE. YOU SO LOOK LIKE HIM. HER. WHATEVER. I THINK IT WAS A GUY.'
OHMIGOD WHO IS THIS PERSON??? D:
Today I had the day off. Staff training day. Underwhelming. I went to Tully's, did some math homework, watched Flavor of Love, read a little. Boring. Oh, and I wrote something awesome, but it BORDERS on fanfiction, so I won't post it. But it's one of my original characters fucking with an already-made character's mind, it's pretty cool.
Good weekend, overall, but I wish something BIG would happen around here for a change. Like, someone saying something really profound, or starting shit with me, or egging my house or something. You know.
Devious Comments
Second off, that was the weirdest heat-wave ever. 3 days of 90 something weather, and the next day it's back to good old fog.
Third off, don't worry, I'm sure I can get some friends of mine to egg your house.
Anyways, nice to hear from you again.
